Childcare
The NAM2023 LOC recognise that childcare is a consideration for many potential attendees when choosing whether or not to attend the conference in person. We are therefore working with the Cardiff University nursery to provide childcare for attendees where possible.
The on-campus nursery caters for children aged from 10 weeks to 5 years old. For more information about the nursery, please visit their website.
Currently the nursery expects to have some places available during the week of NAM2023, but cannot confirm how many they will have for each age group. Places will be subject to availability and limited in number, and we cannot guarantee their availability.
If you are interested in booking places at the nursery during the conference, please This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. as early as possible. This will help the LOC and the nursery assess demand. The LOC will then confirm availability of nursery spaces with you before the registration deadline.
Support for childcare costs
If your institute is signed up to the Athena Swan charter, they may offer grants to cover childcare costs while attending conferences. Often these grants are under-utilised, so it is worth checking whether they are available.
The RAS will be offering grants to support NAM2023 attendees who have caring responsibilities. More information on those grants can be found in the Grants & Bursaries page.
