NAM Community Session

Whether you're an early career researcher or more established in your work, the community session is a chance to hear from and put your questions to the people shaping our science in the years ahead.

There will also be a chance to hear about the new strategy for the Royal Astronomical Society and our ongoing mission to support astronomy and geophysics, and astronomers and geophysicists, in what remains an uncertain global landscape.

In the session, chaired by Professor Mike Edmunds (RAS President), we'll hear from senior thought leaders including:

  • - Professor Grahame Blair, Executive Director, Programmes, Science and Technology Facilities Council
  • - Dr Colin Vincent, ASTRONET Board Chair on the Science Vision & Infrastructure Roadmap for European Astronomy
  • - Professor Amelie Saintonge, University College London
  • - Julie Black, Director of Missions & Capabilities for Discovery & Sustainability, UK Space Agency

This session will be held on Wednesday 5 July at 14:00 in the Sir Stanley Thomas Lecture Theatre in the Centre for Student Life at Cardiff University, and livestreamed on our online conference platform. Questions will be taken live from members of the Theatre audience, or from any attendee via the Q&A functionality in the online conference platform.
