COVID-19 Policy
Currently, there are no legal restrictions or university mandates on NAM participants regarding COVID-19 measures; any changes will be posted on this website.
Nevetheless, the conference organisers are well aware of the impact the COVID-19 pandemic had, and continues to have, on our community. In collaboration with the RAS we want to ensure the meeting is as accessible as possible, while recognising that all in-person meetings carry some risk in this regard, and individuals' risk appetite may be different.
Our main venue has a fully mechanical ventilation system, with a mixture of fresh and filtered recirculated air being pumped around the building. There are CO2 monitors in every area of the building which automatically increase fresh air ventilation if CO2 levels go above 800PPM as per Welsh Government guidance.
We strongly encourage all attendees to take relevant precautions to keep themselves and others safe. Although the LOC cannot and will not enforce mask wearing, masks will be available at the registration desk for any attendees who want one. COVID-19 tests will also be available at the registration desk. An anonymous positive test reporting form will be available via our website. We encourage attendees to mask in busy sessions, eat outside on the building terrace if they wish, and enjoy Cardiff's open spaces when having scientific discussions.
The meeting is fully hybrid, and every attendee has access to this. We encourage attendees to make full use of this facility when rooms are busy or if you are not comfortable attending a particular session in person.
